Mere words can not accurately describe that loss today at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
We were left nearly speechless after watching that 9th inning play out.
Although "UNBELIEVABLE" comes pretty close.

Maybe one of the worst in the five plus seasons of baseball involving Our Washington Nationals.
Just gut wrenching.
And the sight of Cristian Guzman, playing right field, and missing what should have been the final out of the game in the bottom of the 9th--so reminiscent of Ian Desmond's adventures playing the same position in 2009 at Citi Field in New York. When you play out of position--THE BASEBALL ALWAYS FINDS YOU.

Final Score from Minute Maid Park where Washington, down to their last out and last strike, fought back to take the lead in the top of the 9th only to lose again in one of the worst ways possible moments later: The Houston Astros 6 and Our Washington Nationals 4. "The Guz" reportedly lost Lance Berkman's liner of a drive in the lights--according to Our Manager Jim Riggleman after the game. But any rightfielder has to make that catch. Playing out of position, Cristian Guzman found out the hard way this afternoon--The Baseball Always Finds You.
As for "Cardiac" Capps? He needs to get his groove back.
Let's hope Our Washington Nationals can clear their heads on their flight home tonight after such a agonizing defeat and disastrous 10-game road trip (3-7). They need to refocus now and pull themselves back together again.

I love Guz, but he has no business in right...we have right fielders..not sure why we are not using them..and what about Dunn??? Stinking up the joint in a contract year!
ReplyDeleteHe lost it in the Moon, so-to-speak...Livo would be a better defensive replacement, me thinks, if we are going to put original Nats out there...Ironic indeed that a game so reminiscent of Chief's meltdown in San Diego in 2005, signaling the piercing of the Dream Season occurred just hours after his announced return to the bigs. Nats need to play Gonzo at Short tonight so he can get his 3 errors in - keep the streak going.
