Season Ticket Holder Picnic Details

UPDATE: Dear Nationals Season Ticket Holder,
We wanted to make you aware that the Nationals are hosting our Picnic in the Park on this Saturday, August 22, 2009. During this event, Lot T & Lot U will not be open. With this in mind, all season ticket holders who have a parking pass for that night’s game in Lot T and/or Lot U will be able to park in Garage C for the picnic and for the duration of the game. Simply show your parking pass for the August 22nd game to the attendant in Garage C to park your car there. If you have any questions regarding parking at Nationals games please contact a member of our Ticket Services Department by calling 202.675.NATS (6287), Option one (1) then Option one (1) again.

This coming Saturday, August 22nd, before all The Frank Howard Bobbleheads are given away and Our Washington Nationals take on The Milwaukee Brewers at Nationals Park, Season Ticket Holders are invited to participate in a Special Season Ticket Holders Picnic at the South Capitol Street Ballpark. Similar in scope and detail to last season's popular get together with players, coaches and front office members of Our Team, The 2009 Season Ticket Holder Picnic will begin at 1PM and last for three full hours until 4PM.

All participants must enter from The Centerfield Gate. Tickets to this event are located in the back portion of the perforated ticket books sent to each Season Ticket Holder before the start of this season. One entry allowed per ticket.

Vouchers for a free hot dog, chips and soda will arrive at the Primary Season Ticket Holder's Mailing Address (the name in which the tickets were issued) sometime this week. They were sent out over the past weekend. The ballpark will be cleared after this event and if you are attending that night's game with The Brewers you must leave the ballpark and re-enter with a valid game ticket to pick up the promotional bobblehead and watch the game.

And here is the picnic parking situation--so plan accordingly: If you have a Season Parking Pass for games--those lots will be open for those ticket holders. So don't plan on parking in Garages B & C, or any other Team Pre-Paid Parking Lot for free unless you have purchased parking for that night's game. Non parking pass holders will not be allowed to park just for the picnic for free and move their car somewhere else before the start of the game. Non-Season Ticket Parking Lots--W & HH will open for the game only.

If you have any questions you can call the Ticket Services Department at 202-675-6287, select Option 1 then select Option 1 again.

Will Strasburg be at the picnic signing autographs? I know that he shall want one of the Hondo bobbleheads for his collection, for sure!

SenatorNat: If he signs and attends The Picnic it would be a wonderful moment for all fans. It really would be!!

If Strasburg signs, he needs to get his ass to a minor league assignment ASAP. You may be rich, Stephen, but from here on it will be no picnic for you. And be sure to be prepared for rookie dress-up day on the last road trip of the season. Know your place, rook.

ABM--On the night Strasburg was drafted by Washington, in response to my question taken from the assembled media, Rizzo said that if the negotiations played out over more than one month, he would shut Strasburg down for the remainder of the season. Possibly, send him to the Arizona Fall League as a refresher. But they (Washington) would not push him after being in a non-playing mode for so much time.

That would be a wise decision--if they sign him by midnight this evening.

But your point is correct, he needs to learn his role and respect those in front of him.
