Beginning in 2005, The African Queen and I enjoyed Section 320 at RFK Stadium. Our Washington Nationals and the Nats320 Blog came to life for us there. Since 2008-we've sat in Section 218 at Nationals Park, but our blog name has not changed. Our roots are in Nats320-and we will never forget those good times. But, as always, we will attempt to provide fun, information and commentary about Our Washington Nationals. All photos, unless otherwise attributed-COPYRIGHT Nats320--ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Baseball Artwork Installed On Nationals Park's Garages
Returning from business near Nationals Park this afternoon, The African Queen and I noticed the new Baseball Artwork on Garages A and B has been installed at the South Capitol Street Ballpark. Sohna was wondering if the silver baseballs illuminate at night? They appear to be hollow with openings surrounding what would be the baseball's seams.
That might look pretty cool, but we really couldn't tell for sure.

That could be good, but the above-ground parking garages are an abomination. If they were below ground, the park would have amazing views of the city and would be considered a jewel by all. Instead, nobody at all rhapsodizes about the park. This is true lipstick on a pig.
ReplyDeleteI believe there are going to be LEDs in these balls which when lit up are supposed to simulate the movement of a curve ball into the plate and then the movement of the ball back out onto the field after it is hit. Check the archives of JDLand.com for the specifics.
ReplyDeleteTBC: We were talking about how if the lights moved as if the baseball was moving would be cool. Thanks for the info.
