Complete story with quotes to come later, but here are a few pictures from today's "Weekend Bag" Program meal packing effort at The Capital Area Food Bank in NE Washington, DC. Wil Nieves, Alberto Gonzalez and Willie Harris were joined by their wives--Yormarie Nieves, Elaine Gonzalez & Trey Harris--and front office staff from Our Washington Nationals. Their volunteer work an opportunity to put a public face on needy children in the Greater Washington Area that do not have access to school meals.
Nationals Park will host a food drive on the weekend of May 22nd & May 23rd when The Baltimore Orioles take on Our Washington Nationals. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at Center Field Plaza from the time gates open for those games and through the 4th inning.
