2010 Water Taxi Tickets Plus Free Parking--Available Now

The Alexandria Riverboat Company this afternoon began pre-sales of their scheduled Water Taxi trips from Old Town Alexandria to Nationals Park for the 2010 home games for Our Washington Nationals. 39 selected game dates are currently available for purchase--including Opening Day--but not the entire 81-game home schedule--so you will have to check online for days the Water Taxi is currently expected to operate. Those dates might increase--based on demand.

If you purchase boat ride tickets in advance and online only--included is a free parking pass at the 200 Strand Street lot in Old Town across from Chadwicks Restaurant.

Additionally--although the link has not been updated--discounted tickets to all Nationals Home Games when The Water Taxi Operates are available at the Nationals Box Office by showing your Water Taxi Ticket. Last year, that reduction in price ranged from $7 to $9 per game ticket. Check with The Nationals Ticket Office for 2010 Boating/Game Ticket Prices.

Cost for the Water Taxi is $20 roundtrip and $12 one way. The boat will leave Alexandria approximately 1 hour before each game and leave Nationals Park 20 minutes after final pitch. Beer & Refreshments are available onboard for purchase.

Too bad they don't run a boat from their dock @ Washington Harbor in Georgetown for people who live in DC and Arlington

Apparently I can't take the boat one way from the stadium to Alexandria? This does me no good, I get to the park from my office I would like to take the boat home. And $12 is an awful lot of $$$. Too bad they don't have volume discounts or include this in their "season pass."

Alex: You might want to call the Alexandria Riverboat Company about one way from Nationals Park to Alexandria. I think you can do that.

yazzy1956: I believe this boating option is still very much a test market. Demand of customers wanting service should dictate the day. The more that request the service--the different locales will probably start up.

At least six different companies have been granted permits to dock at Nationals Park. Only Alexandria Riverboat is doing non-charter service so far. At least the only one's that has announced.

The free parking just two blocks from the water taxi is of value, especially since parking in that part of Old Town is always tough to get.

The boat also offers a hassle free way. Metro is convenient but the water taxi really relaxes you.

Another thing I like about the water taxi is you arrive on the quiet side of the ballpark.

Also, at the end of the game, you're not thinking, gotta hurry.

Think overall value and enjoy the game and the ride!

Can you take your own boat to the Stadium?

No, you can not dock your own boat at the Diamond Teague Dock. The city controls the permits, mostly for charter services. The Earth Conservation Corp runs the dock for the city.
