At Least The African Queen Caught A Baseball

Duty called me to work and The African Queen attended tonight's series opener against The Philadelphia Phillies at Nationals Park without me. The Premiere of the new movie-- "Night At The Museum, Battle Of The Smithsonian" took place Thursday night at The National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC. This evening was the Press Junket. The never ending rolling through of one entertainment reporter after another from around the country and many parts of the world. The promotional arm of any film where the stars and directors show up speak to the press for television and internet use.

Actors Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Tom Lennon, Ben Garant, Actress Amy Adams and Director Shawn Levy where all on hand at The Air & Space Museum for one-on-one interviews. Robin Williams his usual outragous self. That man is hilarious.

Going deep into Friday Night, there was no way I was going to make the game. Sohna did and even caught a baseball in Section 218 off the bat of Wil Nieves. Proudly, she showed it to me upon getting home.

Yeah, I know Our Washington Nationals lost in 12 innings, the bullpen failed again and Elijah Dukes got hurt. But it's time to get some rest and gear up for tomorrow's double header at Nationals Park against The Phillies.

The Nats ought to come up with some kind of marketing akin to what the "Amazin Mets" did in the early 60's. Maybe enbracing their awfulness in a fun way would help get all of us through this hideous mess.

Way to go Sohna! And on a night when Wil got 2 hits, 2RBI, and 1 BB. (Yay Wil!)

I can't imagine the double agony of watching Olson and Cabrera pitch in the two games today. Add the dysfunction bull pen to the equation and it has the makings of an ugly day.

Anonymous: Then don't come. But remember there are those that come to support the team whether they win or not. And you never know what might happen--something unexpected that you are proud to have seen.

It's Baseball, have fun.

If a fan were to attend both games today, where would he go in between games? Are there any nearby restaurants to visit while waiting for the gates to open for the second game?

Do you know when they're going to have Baseball 101 for women?

Charteste mentioned today in a MASN interview that this event will be in June. Of course, as is often the case, there is no information on the Website, and nothing has been announced in emails from the Nationals, as far as I can tell.

Am I missing something? You're always able to get the scoop. If you can do it again, this batgirl would appreciate it.

The Redskins of the 60's always sold out yet they were not a very good team. They were just real fun to watch. The Nats need to find someway to make it real fun to go Ntionals Park. Right now that isn't happening. More Phillies/Mets/Cardinals fans then Nats fans. If the team is bad you have to distract the fans till this team gets better.

Kasten and the Lerners need to get busy on this very soon. I don't want to lose a third franchise in my lifetime. The second one hurt way too bad.

It's always a thrill to get a foul ball at a MLB game. Now for the big questions did she give it to a kid?

Garrett Mock pitched well for 2 innings today, then Manny left him in too long with pitchers warmed up in the bullpen. Manny, why warm them up if you are not going to use them? This bit of strategery cost the Nats two runs.

Also, our lack of range at shortstop cost us last night.

Bright spot both last night and today: Willie Harris. That guy is a gamer.
