Beginning in 2005, The African Queen and I enjoyed Section 320 at RFK Stadium. Our Washington Nationals and the Nats320 Blog came to life for us there. Since 2008-we've sat in Section 218 at Nationals Park, but our blog name has not changed. Our roots are in Nats320-and we will never forget those good times. But, as always, we will attempt to provide fun, information and commentary about Our Washington Nationals. All photos, unless otherwise attributed-COPYRIGHT Nats320--ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Hurricane Ike
Business Calls again and tonight I find myself in Texas City, Texas--just outside Galveston--30 miles south of Houston.
We are awaiting Hurricane Ike until it hits land. Wherever Ike ends up--you can bet I will be there. In all likelihood there will be little time to write about Our Washington Nationals. In fact, we will be lucky to have power come Saturday Morning. That's the nature of trying to cover such a beast.
But you can be sure I will be checking in with The African Queen. We never come to a Hurricane without a Satellite Phone.
Be safe and you will be in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteI heard the city of Houston is shutting down.
If the AQ needs anything, have her call me!
Hats off to you and your crew.
ReplyDeleteSBF,
ReplyDeleteDitto what Andrew said. Be careful out there.
SBF - What is it that you do that takes you to places like the convention and Hurricane Ike?
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
ReplyDeleteI saw footage from Katrina of a gulf coast hotel that I had stayed in not long beforehand. It just tore that thing apart. Sad and scary.
Again, stay safe.
There's a rumor floating around that Washington will be chosen by MLB as the alternate site for the Cubs-Astros series that has already been postponed from taking place this weekend in Houston. If that happens, SBF, I expect to see you at Nationals Park for all of those games under the guise of "hurricane coverage".
ReplyDeleteBe funny if that series filled the joint.
ReplyDeleteIf the Cubs and 'stros played a series in Nationals Park, it might well fill the joint. There are a lot of Cubs fans in this town - some of them real Chicago transplants, others poseurs. And then there are Nationals fans like me who would love to come to a game at our ballpark where we wouldn't have to worry about being annoyed by Clint. Lots of them I'd say.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to see about going to that game and root for the 'Stros...
ReplyDeleteSBF, I hope the Nats sweep the Fish, but your safety is more important. You're headed off to harms way, so my prayers go out to you and other Texans!
definately not fun stuff. i made a video to document the damages where i am. stay safe! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq8QEy6epj0
