Beginning in 2005, The African Queen and I enjoyed Section 320 at RFK Stadium. Our Washington Nationals and the Nats320 Blog came to life for us there. Since 2008-we've sat in Section 218 at Nationals Park, but our blog name has not changed. Our roots are in Nats320-and we will never forget those good times. But, as always, we will attempt to provide fun, information and commentary about Our Washington Nationals. All photos, unless otherwise attributed-COPYRIGHT Nats320--ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Half Street Ballpark District
Thanks to a poster over at The Ballpark Guys Forum where I first saw this video--but its worth a good look. Monument Realty has produced a Computerized Rendition of their hopes for Half Street, SE--the walkway which leads directly from The Navy Yard Metro to the Main Left Field Plaza Entrance to New Nationals Park.
The video presentation is well done and quite sharp. Here's the link: Half Street Video
Very Inviting.
Full credit for this should go to Jacqueline Dupree who posted a link to this video at jdland.com some time ago.

Not a bad video, but I think the developers forgot this was DC. The music and some of the colors seemed totally out of sync with the typical DC feel. Also, is Half Street actually that narrow or are the dimensions of the video wrong? Most DC streets seem to be a bit wider.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's funny that this video should be coming out now. On Thursday I walked down M across South Capitol, from the East, in my quest for my car registration that was delayed. I can't remember a more dangerous (sidewalks closed on both sides), ugly, smelly, unsightly neighborhood. These construction workers must have short average lifespans. Good luck to the planners as they try to turn it all into Xanadu!
ReplyDeleteThis is slightly off-topic, but did SBF and the others hear about how the Nats are going to play the Sunday night opener against the Braves to open the new ballpark? I'm excited, but I wonder if it's going to feel more like an exhibition since both teams will have to go on the road afterwards...
