Beginning in 2005, The African Queen and I enjoyed Section 320 at RFK Stadium. Our Washington Nationals and the Nats320 Blog came to life for us there. Since 2008-we've sat in Section 218 at Nationals Park, but our blog name has not changed. Our roots are in Nats320-and we will never forget those good times. But, as always, we will attempt to provide fun, information and commentary about Our Washington Nationals. All photos, unless otherwise attributed-COPYRIGHT Nats320--ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

I Don't Care What MLB Thinks!!
With the report from Barry Svrluga that Our Washington Nationals are still in the hunt for Jack McGeary--there is NO BETTER TIME than the present to show COMMITMENT! According to Barry, the contract is not over Money--but a fear by The Lerners that Major League Baseball will be upset over Washington paying higher money for a lower round pick (6th). McGeary a projected First Rounder dropped in the 2007 Entry Draft, after signing to play college ball at Stanford.
I Don't Care if MLB is Upset over "Slotting" Money.
I Don't Care if MLB will try to punish Our Nationals by NOT GIVING them The All Star Game.
I Don't Care if MLB wants, once again, to attempt to control the fate of Our Team.
Because:
MLB DESTROYED THIS FRANCHISE.
TOOK NEARLY ALL ITS BEST PLAYERS AWAY.
USED AND ABUSED THE FRANCHISE FOR CASH.
AND,GAVE AWAY ITS TV RIGHTS TO THE ANGELOS ORIOLES.
I Don't care whether MLB is bitter, upset, pissed or angry at Our Washington Nationals. All that should matter is Building Our Team and Building Our Fan Base.
Mr. Lerner: The Fact remains--As Owners--you can make up some SERIOUS GOOD WILL, with the signing this day of Jack McGeary.
Money Well Spent.
Money to be well earned.
Both by its Young Players on the Field. And, from its FAN BASE that TRULY COULD SEE THE FUTURE FROM HERE.
Mr. Lerner--Just Sign The Young Man. This is Your Team, and Our Team. No longer are Our Washington Nationals a stepchild of Major League Baseball. We are moving forward, not living in the past.
Tell Major League Baseball to shove it. No one really cares what Bud Selig and Major League Baseball Thinks!! Really.
All I CARE ABOUT IS BUILDING THAT PROMISED WINNING FOUNDATION WITH YOUNG TALENT!!
Its Your Money, and you can spend it WISELY--TODAY.
SBF...
ReplyDeleteFind Stan at the game tonight...march him to the negotiating table and don't let go until he's on the phone and getting it done!
(I now imagine, after the top of the fourth inning, a panicked Stan Kasten - phone in hand, tie flapping maniacly over his shoulder - roaring out of the left field gate, overtaking the Rushmores. He's followed immediately on his heels by SBF, chasing him down with pen and contract in hand, insisting, "SIGN HIM!!! SIGN HIM!!!" Stan and SBF finish 1-2. Teddy, a distant third.)
Jim: Now That's Funny! Somehow I can just see that!! Laughing all the way. Terrific. Thanks for the humor.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree SBF....as you might have guessed long ago.....This is a watershed moment for this ownership group....It seems no longer can they hide behind the speculation that McGeary is not worth the money or that he is set on Stanford.....It seems the ball is in the Lerner's court. We will know if you or I have been correct about the Ownership group soon enough.
ReplyDeleteYou know how you trust certain people's opinions on some subjects, they carry a lot of weight, etc. etc.? Well, with MLB, it's just the OPPOSITE. If you see Bud Selig eating steak, it's time to order a salad.
ReplyDeleteNice meeting you at yesterday's game. Keep up the good work...I hope to make a new entry in my neglected site in the next week or so. Got some great shots from last night. C - ya.
ReplyDeleteHey! Nice chase down, SBF!
ReplyDeleteDONE!!!
