Beginning in 2005, The African Queen and I enjoyed Section 320 at RFK Stadium. Our Washington Nationals and the Nats320 Blog came to life for us there. Since 2008-we've sat in Section 218 at Nationals Park, but our blog name has not changed. Our roots are in Nats320-and we will never forget those good times. But, as always, we will attempt to provide fun, information and commentary about Our Washington Nationals. All photos, unless otherwise attributed-COPYRIGHT Nats320--ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Less Is Not More
Included in today's Washington Post Story on John Patterson, was this photo of Patterson in Viera, Florida at Spring Training. As much as I love the Curly "W", I am already missing that fabulous "DC" Batting Practice Cap.
Do you remember THE RAGE in spring of 2005 at the debut of the "DC" Logo Cap. EVERYONE wanted one. They were in short supply. Hucksters were even gouging them on eBay!! Now, sadly that GREAT CAP is gone. Hopefully, not forgotten.
In time, I will get use to the new Navy Blue Curly "W" Batting Practice Cap. But, no doubt, I would prefer the red, white, blue with gold trim "DC" Baseball Cap. The "DC" logo added a freshness to the historical significance of the Curly "W". And, its always good to have variety. Now, we have less. And in this case, less is not more.
I just love that cap!! I miss it. And, the "DC" Batting Practice Jersey, too.
I've already laid in a permanent supply of the DC hat. It will always be in style!
ReplyDeleteI have my DC cap that will stay until it falls apart.
ReplyDeleteAs for SBF's previous post, I had hoped I'd seen the last of T. Batista when he departed from the O's - alas, it may not be...
I can only say he has the most awkward and cringe-inducing batting stance I have ever seen in baseball. I too, question his signing, so add my name to the petition when you next speak to Bowden, SBF!
All of my Nats gear (hats and shirts) have the DC logo. Very disappointed in Kastan on this decision.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, they can bring it back again when sales are down. They will still have the alts too.
ReplyDeleteDC or W it doesn't matter to me. Just please ditch the RED. We had those very cool hats in '67 that were Blue with red piping. '68 brought on the Red hats and they look awful. The Washington Baseball Club is a BLUE club and has been since the beginning of time. Just take a look at the history.
