Digging Out
Between digging out of the nearly two feet of snow that fell around our house this past weekend and the half dozen or so trees that targeted our dwelling during the blizzard--we've been pretty busy keeping things safe. There is nothing like watching 75 to 100 foot tall trees falling during a storm and wondering whether your roof is going to collapse at any moment thanks to the possible impact.
Fortunately, major damage was avoided. By breaking off high, not at the roots, they missed, but left quite the mess to clean up.

I am glad you two are OK. Spring and baseball can't get here soon enough!
That was some storm, and it sounds as though there is more on the way. Glad to hear that you didn't sustain any damage to your home. We also have a wooded lot, but so far we've lost only a few branches. (Knock wood.)
I suppose that we'll appreciate spring all the more after this winter!
