All Inauguration All The Time

I've been at work since midnight last night. The African Queen headed into The District of Columbia early this afternoon. We are not heading home until at least midnight Tuesday Night--It's All Inauguration All The Time. There is a lot to cover and moving around is simply not easy (when you have to clear a ton of gear through security in three separate locations).

Sohna and I will be watching history in the making over the next two days. Hopefully, Our Washington Nationals will follow suit with a positive history making moment of their own in the very near future. But, until Wednesday, not a whole lot of time to follow DC Baseball. The time now is to follow the first steps of The 44th President of The United States.

I hope the Nats take advantage of this event to get some positive press, but we'll have to wait and see. Anyway, best of luck tomorrow! I plan to go to the Inauguration tomorrow assuming I can will myself to wake up that early on what is an (unexpected) holiday for me.

SBF, could you please tell those of us who don't know what kind of work you do when you aren't doing a great job on Nats320?

Section 109, I'll let SBF answer this question himself, but I believe he has previously mentioned on this blog what he does for a living. Those who are aware of this know why he has to be at the Inauguration.

We watched the historic inauguration in our classes, my students were impressed with the size of the crowd. They commented that it looked very cold there, I looked up the temp, and told them it was 27 degrees. They all laughed and said sweatshirt weather. Go Nats,

Mike from Maine

Edward - Not everyone has time to read every single blog entry and may have missed the one time SBF mentioned what he does for a living. Be kind and not sound like you are part of an exclusive club please.

I am not part of an "exclusive club" but you are not the only one who doesn't have time to go back and re-read SBF's posts. I'm 99% sure that SBF has mentioned what his job is, but 99 is not the same as 100. Unless I am sure, I am not going to betray any confidences.

However, if you don't have time to go back and re-read SBF's posts, I have. The following posts from last year---should clarify that SBF doesn't have a cushy desk job downtown. SBF works hard for his money, and sometimes his job takes him in harm's way:

Hurricane Ike

Hunkered Down

Suffice it to say, SBF wasn't at the Inauguration as a tourist---he was doing his job, and I'm very gratefful to him for the job he did!

SBF:

Hope you and AQ have caught up on your sleep.

Were you able to get a message out to BHO that his presence at Nats Park to throw out the first pitch on April 13 would be most appreciated?

I work in the Big Leagues of Television Network News and travel extensively. As to The President throwing out the first pitch at Nationals Park in 2009--it is my understanding he is aware of the request. And I truly believe he wants to do it--schedule permitting. Remember, The New First Family says they wish to Live In DC, not just work here.

SFB: Just wondering what your (& TAQ's) thoughts are on the possibility of Don Sutton leaving his color analyst spot to return to ATL?

Sohna and I wish Don Sutton would stay. I've up posted this commment with another blog, but I mentioned in that post, that he's the best part of the TV announcing crew, very insightful and knows the game. You can learn baseball from listening to Don Sutton. You can't do that with many other broadcasters.
