Are The Sausages Coming?
All week long at RFK Stadium, this young fellow dressed as a Hot Dog has paraded himself around--waving to the crowd. At first, everybody just sort of laughed. No one taking him seriously. But, when THIS GUY--IS A NATPACK GUY--there has to be something to it.
Yesterday, Mr. Hot Dog Paraded around RFK with a sign proclaiming "Happy 4th Of July from All The WIENERS".
With The Milwaukee Brewers coming to DC this very weekend, is it POSSIBLE Their FAMOUS RACING SAUSAGES ARE FINALLY COMING HERE TO RACE?
Last winter, I asked Team President Stan Kasten about this very question. He told me that alot would have to be worked out to make such an event happen--especially along Major League Baseball's line. Then, when I wrote "Should Teddy Win?" a comment was left saying a challenge had been proclaimed.
Of course--you can bet I have been looking for the real answers. Really, why would Any NatPacker be dressed as a HOT DOG, a few shorts days before The Brewers arrive in Our Nation's Capital--unless something was up?
Sure--Our Washington Nationals could be pissed at a challenge offered--but turned down. The Sausages may just be Upset over being UPSTAGED by Our VERY POPULAR Racing Presidents. Or someone, just decided to make fun of those Five Delectables.
Nah--I am not buying that--at least not yet. Our Washington Nationals are OFFICIALLY MUM on the subject. And, The Milwaukee Brewers DENY IT--Flatly. Let me tell you--I asked them. But, I am going to speculate--taking an educated guess.
I would surprised if The Racing Sausages DO NOT show up at RFK Stadium sometime this weekend. Its something I would LOVE TO SEE. Because--This Is All In Fun!! Really, there is no other reason for a fellow to be dressed up as a Hot Dog--unless to peak interest. I am sure, its not a promotion for Armark's fine cuisine.
Does THIS MEAN THAT TEDDY COULD ACTUALLY WIN?? Against The Sausages? And, still leave his Losing Streak Against his Fellow Presidents In TACT? Would the race be a RELAY RACE--Teddy Winning at The Anchor?
Now--That Would Be Interesting. It also RAISES THE STAKES for one of The BEST In-Game Entertainment Events staged at a Professional Sporting Event.
The Gauntlet has been thrown down. If my Educated Guess is Correct--How Much Fun Would THIS BE TO WATCH?!!
Bring 'EM ON!! This Could Be FABULOUS!!
Thanks to Miss Chatter for the Fine Hot Dog Man Photo.

How do you work the 5 v. 4 in a relay race though? Does Screech race to even it out? (If Clinton were to do it, would he go as a President, or a Big Hot Dog, or both?)
I'd be flattered if the Racing Presidents were able to take their act on the road. Would Lincoln win in Wrigley Field, I wonder? Teddy might actually win in the state (New York) where he served as governor before becoming Vice President...
One more thing---SBF was not kidding when he said the stadium is nearly done as far as steel is concerned. Anybody see the webcam today? They're putting up the light standard in left field!
A drive by the stadiums will really get you excited!
Well, Teddy has been known to stop for a hot dog on his way to RFK. What's to stop him from picking up five sausages and bringing them with him into RFK? Okay, maybe the Nats' outside food policy...
But you know that if Bud Selig still has at least a little bit of influence over the Brewers, this has to happen this weekend. No, wait. After the All Star break. No, wait. Before the end of the season. No, wait. We don't want to upstage the World Series with this. No, wait. When does that new park open? That would be a good time. No, wait. We'd better see if we can get a sausage provision in the next Collective Bargaining Agreement, just in case...
Oh, well. It was a good idea at least, SBF.
With Jose Guillen's bat red hot in Seattle, 50 rbi's and a batting average near .300, it makes me want to puke ever time Kearns comes to the plate. The only thing Kearns has done since coming to the Nats is ruin the career of Nick Johnson.
This is a message to let you know that this post was featured on Comcast Sportsnet's Washington Post Live on Friday, July 6th. Thank you for providing us with some great content!
Please, never blame a player on another's misfortune. I was at the Met's game last September. I saw and heard the collision. It was an accident. Players collide all the time in baseball. It is never anyone's fault. It is a very unfortunate ACCIDENT.
